Ziggy’s Villas is a pair of architecturally designed dwellings set within a coastal suburb south of Byron Bay. The villas explore a considered approach to ‘gentle density’ within a residential setting.
Positioned just moments from the beach, the project balances privacy and openness through layered thresholds and landscaped boundaries. Double-height living spaces create a sense of scale. Carefully placed openings allow natural light and sea breezes to move through the interiors, strengthening the connection to the surrounding environment.
Materiality plays a central role, with a palette of concrete, rendered surfaces, brick and timber. These elements work together to create depth, texture and durability. The result is a series of spaces that feel both robust and refined, designed to respond to climate and context.
The Tenn Pendant in Blackwood compliments this material palette, introducing warmth and a natural timber element within the interiors. Suspended as a linear feature within the living spaces, it provides both task and ambient lighting. The pendant contributes to the layered lighting approach while maintaining a subtle architectural presence.
