Maidie Street is a considered family home in Highton, designed around the principles of modest living, functionality and a thoughtful approach to everyday life.
The home prioritises spaces that support both connection and independence, with generous shared living areas balanced by quieter spaces for working and retreat. An open-plan kitchen and dining area forms the heart of the home, creating a relaxed gathering place with a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.
Natural rammed earth is a defining element of the interior, bringing warmth, texture and a sense of permanence to the space. Paired with polished concrete floors, dark cabinetry, natural timber and a restrained neutral palette, the material selection creates an interior that feels grounded and contemporary while celebrating the character of each finish.
The Tenn Up Pendant complements this material-led approach, introducing a refined linear element above the kitchen island. Its natural timber body connects with the surrounding joinery and timber detailing, while its minimal form sits comfortably alongside the solidity and texture of the rammed earth. Soft, directional light provides functional illumination across the island while contributing to the warm, understated atmosphere of the home.
Maidie Street was recognised at the Master Builders Victoria awards, receiving Best Custom Home $800k–$1M – Western Victoria.
