Legacy House is a fully off-grid, intergenerational home. It creates a place of connection to family, landscape and the rhythms of everyday life.
Set within the Sunshine Coast hinterland, the project uses passive design principles. As a result, it focuses on orientation, natural ventilation and thermal performance. The home utilises solar power, rainwater harvesting and on-site systems to support a self-sufficient way of living.
The material palette is intentionally restrained and deeply connected to its environment. Throughout the home, locally sourced and recycled timbers, natural finishes and handcrafted elements define the space. Timber used for joinery and furniture is repurposed from the site itself, reinforcing a sense of continuity between the building and its surroundings.
Designed for multiple generations, the home prioritises shared spaces that open to the outdoors. This approach encourages connection while maintaining a light footprint. Rather than maximising built form, the design extends into the landscape, creating flexible areas for gathering, retreat and time spent in nature.
The Roller Pendant in Blackwood compliments this material approach, introducing a refined timber element that aligns with the warmth and honesty of the interior palette. Its minimal cylindrical form provides a subtle architectural presence. At the same time, soft, directional light supports the ambient atmosphere of the space.
