Carlyle Residence is a considered renovation of a 1970s dwelling, reimagined as a calm, material-led coastal home.
Set beside a leafy reserve, the design prioritises natural light, airflow and a strong connection to the outdoors. Generous openings and a reoriented plan allow living spaces to flow into landscaped gardens and alfresco zones. This creates a relaxed environment shaped by climate and lifestyle, suited to modern family living.
Materiality sits at the core of the project, with timber, terracotta and natural stone used throughout to create warmth, texture and cohesion. The interiors draw on Japanese minimalism and Californian coastal design. They remain restrained yet highly considered, with each material feeling intentional and enduring.
The Umber Sconce in Blackwood compliments this palette, introducing a rich timber element that enhances depth and softness. Its sculptural form adds a subtle architectural layer. Warm, directional light contributes to the calm, atmospheric quality of the space.
