Australia Street Suites is a collection of boutique, design-led apartments set within a reimagined heritage building in the heart of Newtown.
The project balances the character of the existing architecture with a contemporary interior approach. It preserves original elements while introducing a refined material palette. Warm timber finishes, layered textures and curated furnishings create spaces that feel both elevated and lived-in. Together, they offer a sense of retreat within a highly urban setting.
Each suite is individually considered, creating a hospitality experience rather than traditional accommodation. The design draws on local culture, materiality and craftsmanship. It forms a distinct yet cohesive identity across the project. Natural light, open-plan layouts and thoughtful detailing create an environment that feels calm, welcoming and connected to its surroundings.
The Silo Sconce in American Oak with a black finish compliments the material palette, introducing a subtle contrast between natural timber and darker detailing. It provides soft, directional light. This enhances the atmosphere while contributing to the layered lighting approach throughout the suites.
